A few details on
Our sole purpose is to make you, the customer happy, in what you are receiving and paying your hard earned dollars for. We aim to deliver the best possible service from all angles, whether that be Requirements Gathering, Specifications, Testing or Project Management.
It is a clear definition of the scope of the project which involves specifying, listening and asking questions, multiple questions! What problem are we solving, what is the business need? The focus is on the business need (the what) rather than the physical implementation (the how).
Would you like a Functional Specification, Technical Specification etc. Name a type of specification and we can do it. We have the people and the technology!
The art of identifying the activities and defining what a business entity does, who is responsible and shows a series of events that produce an end result. In short, you have a start point, an end point and something in between. That something in between is the process map which is a planning and management tool that visually describes the flow of work.
The process map has to be easy to understand in anyone’s language as well as being clear and concise, for example, developers, testers and senior management must all be able to read and understand a process map.
What document would you like, I hear you say. We at KiKi Consulting can produce a myriad of documents. Did I hear Initiative Brief with a Business Case, followed by Business Requirements with a Functional Specification and to top it off, a Test Strategy only to mention a few?
Our documents are written in such a way that all personnel, regardless of their knowledge or hierarchy in the company or project can understand them. In addition, to top it all off, we have a traceability matrix that links all the documents together, ensuring that all business functions have been covered, end to end!
Every project boils down to money. If you had a bigger budget, you could probably get more people to complete your project more quickly and deliver more. That’s why no project plan is complete until you come up with a budget. Regardless of whether your project is big or small, and how many resources and activities are included, the process for figuring out the bottom line is always the same and the ability to identify all of the cost items to ensure appropriate budgets are set up front is a highly sought after skillset that we feel we possess.
It is important to come up with detailed estimates for all the project costs and hence why we at KiKi Consulting do a number of estimates, whether that be the Waterfall approach or Agile, using story points and planning poker.
Based on our experience spanning over 30 years in the industry, we at KiKi Consulting would only supply the crème da le crème of project resources. There is no use in supplying a resource who will take 3 months to become fully productive to your organisation and our expectation instead is that a KiKi Consulting resource would hit the ground running within the first week as long as you are able to provide us with the appropriate level of support. We at KiKi Consulting want to ensure that your hard earned dollars are being productively spent to achieve superior outcomes.
We want you to feel satisfied in what you are paying for, so that one project can be turned into many, knowing that the resource being paid for is top notch!
With the right resources, we have the ability to deliver what was promised from Day 1 to completion! Of course there will be exceptions, where there are justifications (of course), however, the ability to deliver on time, on or under budget and within the time frame that was promised, is of the utmost importance. To coin a phrase: Simply the Best!
End to End (E2E) Testing is a methodology or a technique that is used to test whether the flow of an application is performing as designed from start to finish and that the right information is passed between various system components and systems. The entire application is tested in a real world scenario and for critical functionalities such as communicating with the other systems, interfaces, databases, networks and other applications. There are no shortcuts in E2E testing. If I am expecting a payment for $200.98, then that exact amount needs to appear in my bank account ; nothing more, nothing less! We at KiKi Consulting ensure that is the case!
As we all know, manual testing requires physical time and effort to ensure the software code does everything it’s supposed to do. In addition, manual testers have to make a record of their findings. This involves checking log files, external services and the databases for errors. Automated testing though is the future for a number of reasons. Automated testing tools ensures that significantly less time is needed in exploratory tests and as a result testing resources are more focussed on maintaining test scripts and increasing overall test coverage, for a lower net spend on testing with higher quality.
There still needs to be a component of manual testing as the human mind is able to draw insights from tests that might otherwise be missed by an automated testing program. Automated testing is well suited for large projects; projects that require testing of the same areas over and over again as well as projects that have already been through an initial manual testing process. Just like a car, a manual has a preference over an automatic in some circumstances, however, an automatic has preference over a manual in other circumstances. Combining the two is the best of both worlds!
Regression testing is a type of software testing which verifies that software which was previously developed and tested still performs correctly after it was changed or interfaced with other software. The purpose is to catch bugs that may have been accidentally introduced into a new build or release and to ensure that previously removed bugs do not reappear. Therefore, the execution of previously run test scenarios ensures that any new changes to an application has not caused or introduced new or existing bugs. Regression testing should not be taken lightly and we at KiKi Consulting make sure that all bases are covered!
Agile is not a methodology per se, but a framework! The Agile approach helps teams respond to unpredictability through incremental, iterative work and feedback. Agile is a time boxed iterative approach to software delivery that builds software incrementally from the start of a project, instead of trying to deliver it all at once near the end. It works by breaking projects down into little bits of user functionality (user stories), prioritising them and then continuously delivering them in short (usually) two week cycles called iterations or sprints.
At KiKi Consulting, we have qualified personnel to deliver the Agile approach!
Prototyping allows you to gather feedback from end users while you are still fully planning and designing your system. So if you have a radio button instead of a check box or the process flow is not correct in any way, then prototyping allows to you make the necessary changes prior to an iteration or release going live. Prototypes are employed to help build a system that is intuitive and easy to navigate for end users and at the same time, clarify information requirements. It can be applied to a new or existing system. The biggest improvements in user experience come from gathering usability data as early as possible.
With prototyping, it is cheaper to make changes before any code has been written than to wait until after the implementation is complete. If prototyping is the way to go in your organisation, then KiKi Consulting can help you with this unique skill set, which can save you significant dollars!
In its simplest form, design thinking is a process, applicable to all walks of life, of creating new and innovative ideas and solving problems. It is not limited to a specific industry or area of expertise. It can be as effective in technology or education as it may be in services or manufacturing. It could result in new products and services for customers or improved processes and productivity gains for internal operations. It is a proven and repeatable problem solving protocol that any business or profession can employ to achieve extraordinary results.
At KiKi Consulting, we have the power to facilitate these sessions, ensuring that the right answers are surfaced in order for the right option to be selected and executed!
